Who are we?
We are the Baltimore City Sitting Judges Committee, a group of volunteer lawyers who care deeply about the quality of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. We believe that Judges Brown, Fletcher-Hill, Sfekas, Shar, and Welch contribute to the high quality of the bench with their diverse and extensive experience and their proven integrity. We urge you to support them too.
Why do we support the Baltimore City Sitting Judges?
These five judges have done far more than just be selected by the Governor for appointment. They have submitted their qualifications to exhaustive review by the full range of bar association committees and have earned nomination by the Judicial Nominating Commission for Baltimore City. Only then were they put before the Governor for his consideration, and they earned the Governor’s confidence as well. Indeed, Judge Welch has earned appointment by two Governors – when he was first appointed in 1992 and when he was re-appointed in 2009.
How can I support the Baltimore City Sitting Judges?
Most important, vote for them. And tell all your friends who are City residents that judicial elections are important for the City and that they should learn about the Proven Sitting Judges and vote for them too.
You can also volunteer to work in a variety of ways, including working at the polls on election day. And of course, you can make a contribution to the Committee’s work.
